IkoMoWa

Funding Programme

Bayerisches Förderprogramm zur Anbahnung internationaler Forschungskooperationen

Background

The southern regions of Ukraine are heavily affected by the impacts of war and climate change. Rivers and adjacent ecosystems, in particular, are under pressure. The project fosters German-Ukrainian cooperation in water management by creating synergies between the expertise of both countries regarding sustainable concepts—specifically that of "integrated food production."

Objectives

Development of a practical model for water body restoration adapted to Ukrainian conditions, incorporating:

Rainwater management

Restoration of hydrological processes

Green infrastructure

The aim is to develop concrete projects and proposals for future pilot projects in Ukraine.
